TMBG et Conan
Wow. They Might Be Giants were just on Conan promoting No!, their new (new = old) childrens cd. They played Robot Parade and Shoehorn w/ Teeth. It was just the two Johns, and I'll tell ya what, I've never seen such an unresponsive crowd. Flansy even did that "I think we're losing the crowd John" gig. The crowd had no idea what was going on. It was a shame, cause out of the five shows I've been to, I think I enjoy Robot Parade the most. Well... maybe not the most but it's up there. The crowd didn't understand the "G-L-O-.....ckinspiel" part, or any of it come to think of it. They didn't even join in, or make any noise at all. Poor Johns. We all know they still rock though. I think that's how they can win over the uninitiated crowd, and they tried something different. Oh well.
