Last Friday I saw Green Day for free. It was my first show in an arena. My roommate's little sister and her friend came up, and he was taking her to her first concert. She's a big Green Day concert. My other roommate Jake was supposed to go with him, but he forgot it was his birthday (hehehe) so Chris had an extra ticket. So I said I'd go, and I went for free. I saw Green Day in 1997 I think, after one of their albums came out. They did the same thing where they had a kid come up on stage and play the guitar, but this time they also had two other kids come up and play the bass and the drums. I had to wonder if they've been doing that every show for more than 7 years. Sounds really irritating to do. Anyway, they put on a good show; and it was nice to see his sister so excited and she clearly had a good time.
Tonight I saw Bob Dylan for free. He played at RIT. Once again, Chris had an extra ticket because his gf didn't come down. I have nothing against Bob Dylan; he is pretty unanimously regarded as a legend, so I went. I only know like two songs of his. It was kinda boring. Two things to sum up the night were one of his crew guys visibly reading a book, and some old guy passing out/feinting or whathaveyou when no one was jumping/rocking-out/moving and it was cool inside.
