Small Compact Fan

I am not a big fan of this: An older person (than yourself) refers to a famous book, or literary work or what have you. Then they are ridiculously confused that you've never read this, in a sort of "wow you damn youths are stupid, what ARE they teaching you these days" look. First of all, it is not like we've never heard of the thing. Don't insult my intelligence. Secondly, what they ARE teaching me is OTHER books. The same things are not gonna be taught forevar. Granted, many of them should be taught for almost-ever. A very long time, I totally agree. But other books are coming out, time is moving on. So don't scoff at me if I've never read Dante's Inferno all the way through. Neither had anyone else in a class of 60 Art History students my age. Obviously it's not our fault, and I'm sure you didn't read it cause you REALLY wanted to and just couldn't WAIT to see how it ended.
