as a first year student: high school was a joke, pointless, meaningless drama, and essentially a large waste of time. If anyone says that the high school years were the best of their lives, they've made a huge mistake living their life - think about it: highschool: being forced into a buliding for 7 hours a day, with only a half hour to an hour break at the most (WITHOUT ANY SORT OF PAY, might I add), with the added expectation of at least an hour of homework everynight, as well as expected to apart of extracirricular activities and clubs that take up even more time, all with little to any break, and then you go to bed and wake up early to do it again for five days in a row and often you don't even get a full weekend because something is going on Saturday that is school related - a sports event, etc. leaving you with only one day to recoup. I think personally, high school needs an extended break in the middle of it - say a 2 hour lunch break (as they do in Europe). we'd go later, but we'd have more sanity. High school is crap.

Second: as a college student I have not experienced the "Real" world by any sort of measure of the word - but life is exceptionally better than in high school. You have freedom and the ability to be responsible for what you do and when you do it. You're paying to be at school, so you get people who want to be there, and you learn a lot more considerably faster. College life is good life.
