Canadian TV. \o/ Perhaps it's been a case of 'the grass is greener on the other side', but Canada has produced some amazing TV, and these are my top five. They're vaguely in order of preference but really, it's like picking my favourite child.

Trailer!Last December I posted a picspam that included this show's title sequence as one of my favourites and I bemoaned the fact that I couldn't really recommend the show itself because it wasn't that good. Not so any longer! This show has really stepped it up. It's just the right amount of angst, ridiculousness, tortured insurance adjustors, and the occasional sex scene. I have ulterior motives recommending it, however, because I want fic for it so bad.

No trailer for this one. :(
It's a show about a guy who never leaves his apartment because he'd rather watch TV all day. I think we can all relate. This is one of those shows where the female lead is awesome and believable, and the canon ship is cute, weird, and realistic. Oh and you know, there's CKR.

Trailer!Best. cop show. ever. ♥ A good guy who's sometimes a dick but you love him but you hate the shit he gets up to in his private but you respect him for his professional morals but... etc. Dominic Da Vinci is an amazingly realised character with strengths and weaknesses and setbacks, and pretty much every other character gets a good level of growth over the seven seasons. This isn't the first time I've gushed about this show.

No trailer - have
the opening titles instead.
The show that started it all for me! I know, technically, it's American because it was set in America, but it was filmed in Canada, and it had, like, two American actors total, so it counts. I pretty much love every character and every episode. There isn't much more to say.

Trailer! This show made me enjoy Shakespeare while I was studying it for my English A Level. That alone could put it to the number one spot. Other reasons: it's funny, super-intelligent, educational, serious, and stars Rachel McAdams in the only role I've ever liked her in. Sometimes all at once. I could watch Geoffrey's Ophelia speech over and over and over. Quick fact: At least one actor from the other four shows had a role in S&A. It like the nexus of Canadian talent. And if you're getting the feeling that I have a crush on Luke Kirby? You'd be right.
I ♥ my adopted country.
