I've been failing at so many things recently:
- Going to bed. I've been averaging 4am to go to sleep and 2pm to get up.
- Not getting my blood sucked. Hungry mosquitoes have attacked my leg and I have two wicked angry growths near my ankle that itch like crazy. They're all red and ick.
- Teeth. I've got really bad pain in my bottom left wisdom tooth whenever I brush or drink something very cold. It's not the tooth itself, which I thought it was at first, but the gum surrounding it. I hope to god it's not infected - it's not swollen or that painful when left alone. Growing pains, maybe? Strangely enough, it came on after I breathed in some of the toner from our laser printer, which I'm mildly allergic and it always makes my jaw hurt.
- Pain in general. I've done something to the top of my leg as well, so I basically just hurt. :(
- Being observant. Apparently there's been some big fair on where I live - a bunch of streets have been closed off and a stage was set up with some guys playing noise to raise money for charity. I say noise because no one could catergorise it as actual music. In the park, they had one of those obstacle courses set up that you run your dog through, only it wasn't for dogs, it was for toddlers. Oh, and board where you could pin up your 'fruit and veg haikus' and some cheerleaders, because that's so, you know, English. Somehow, I missed all of this on my way to my hunt for comics but on my way back I just stared at everything in mild shock while thinking 'what the hell is going on?'
- WRITING. OMG COME ON, BRAIN.
So. Let's talk about that, shall we? First off, I'm not much of a DW fan anymore, Ten just doesn't do it for me. Having said that, though, Donna did not deserve the ending she got and I refuse to believe that they won't one day find a way back in for her.
What I liked:
+ Jack! ♥♥♥ How is it that he's always 50% more awesome when on DW than when on Torchwood? My love for him had waned through both seasons of Torchwood, but I love him again! Him hugging people and being all flirtatious is massive amounts of yay!
+ Jack/Mickey/Martha? YES PLEASE. They better be joining the Torchwood cast.
+ Rose's happy-ish ending. I don't even really like Rose, but I've become really sappy lately and found myself glad when characters get happy endings. I did, however, see it coming a million miles off.
Things that didn't make sense:
- If Donna can never be told about everything that happened because it'll cause her memory to come back and that'll kill her, then surely hearing the news reports and seeing the Doctor would trigger her memories? Her mother even asked that, and it was completely brushed off without any real explanation.
- Donna's missing several months of memory, WTF? She's got to notice that!
- As someone else mentioned, what happens if she meets Jack, Martha or Mickey again?
Also, no set up for the Christmas special? This is most unusual.
