english exam part uno, completed
a) Dudes, my English exam went well, like really well (not that I'm jinxing myself or anything...) and I think my main problem might be that I wrote too much. I had to write a novel extract about evacuees in WW2 in about 400 words and I got carried away and did more like 600. But it was fun! I actually started to get into the tale of my poor nameless evacuee and his foster parents, Melissa and Robert. Then I had to write a commentary explaining how I shaped the texts given to reflect the attitudes and values of the characters and how I wrote it for an adult audience. I wrote two and a half pages for that, which is really good for me.
b) I'm sleeping really badly at the moment, and when I sleep badly, I have bizarre and vivid dreams. Like, last night I dreamt that I was talking to a Callum Keith Rennie character (I think RayK, but who knows) and he had some kind of *trauma* and he was crying and I hugged him... and then I woke up. I think it was because I've been reading Shadows Fade, which is a HCL/Tales of the City crossover. The night before last, I had a dream in which I was being interviewed, I think it was for entry into a school, and the woman I talked to was Daphne Zuniga (she was in the episode of One Tree Hill I watched on Monday). WTF?
c) I've been reading quotes from Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle, which I need to see, like, now, and for some strange reason I imagine Adam from Heroes saying Neil Patrick Harris's lines. It's very odd.
d) Oh God, Michael Welch is in Twilight. I might... have to see it now.
e) My hair is all icky. I considered washing it every second day and I tested that today, but... ick, no, I can't hack it.
f) I'm really not reading as much as I should be. Out of the eighteen books I've read, fifteen were graphic novels. I've started like four books this year that are still half read. Maybe in the holidays, I guess.
I'm off to do some epic editing.
