Holiday season

We've gotten a little more into Christmas decorations this year. Nick opted for a real tree over the little fiber-optic tree from college we used last year. I've never had a real tree so it's a fun change. We got lights and decorations on sale last year after Christmas so our house is definitely more festive. After going to our church Christmas play, we had the family over thought the baby might enjoy it the decorations. I'm quite sure the most exciting part of it for him was spinning and being pushed on a computer chair.

I usually look for Christmas plays to attend, but so far this year we've just come across some really fun reenactments. The first one was a guided walk through Bethlehem where we visited the house of Gamaliel, walked past vendors and had to pay our taxes. We tried to find a place to stay but the innkeeper just laughed at us and another family didn't have any room. We found Mary and Joseph proudly holding Jesus and lastly came across a camel named Oprah. Very cute! A week later we heard about a drive-thru nativity. We didn't know where it was but knew it started in a school parking lot. We followed a line of cars all around the parking lot until we realized it wouldn't be held there. We were directed to a nearby church. The first scene was a host of angels with the highest angel on a fork lift. Shepherds were tending animals down below. They had a really neat Bethlehem scene, a lot to see! We drove past the inn, the manger and a great A ccapella choir. One of my favorites, three wisemen each with a camel! The last scene was the three crosses with a lamb at the bottom.

Nick started having problems with a wisdom tooth on Thanksgiving and the next day was even worse. We started calling around to find him a dentist but we just talked to answering services and the emergency dental services didn't answer their phones. We finally came across one office who helped us determine he had an infection and offered to get us a prescription for antibiotics. We declined and told her he also needed pain medicine. Someone told us the ER could get a dentist for us, but I called and found this wasn't the case. They would only get medicine to manage the pain. We went to the urgent care clinic and explained the situation. It wasn't until we had waited 20 minutes or so, we overheard a call from someone presumably with a similiar problem and they told that person they would only give them antibiotics but not prescribe pain medicine. We left and went to the ER, only to not find any parking. So we called the dentist office and told them we would go with the antibiotics prescription. He got it pulled the next week.
