Sunday I participated in the Tour de Franklin, a local bike ride to raise money for the Franklin Food Bank, I found out about it kind of late so I was not able to raise any funds from friends or family, so I gave a bit extra with my registration.
I opted for the 62-mile metric century (100km), which by the end, turned out to be 68 miles due to a closed bridge detour. Hillsboroughnians or other locals may be interested in the
map of the tour.
I feel I did pretty well for my first big tour like this, and it was rather fun, even riding solo for a majority of it. I'm hoping by the end of this riding season (does it actually end though? I still rode the mountain bike through the winter, though not as much) I'll be able to do an actual century (100 miles), at least on flat land, I don't know about handling any significant hills yet.
Karen and I also moved recently, much more room in this apartment, it is definitely shaping up into something nice. We have a LIBRARY, we are sure to be accepted into high society now.
