Room 512, Sunday evening

Dec 16, 2007 18:08

Evie had waited until after the football game to open up her presents from her parents, and was gleefully eating a cupcake as she read her mother's letter.

She stopped eating and re-read the last page with concern, then slowly went back to evaluating her presents, thinking hard.

[ooc: open! Evie is 17 today, yay. Or, you know, 107.]

anne, sokka, happy 17

Sokka grinned and leaned against her doorframe with some flowers and a gift.

"Hey," he began suavely, and then stopped himself. "It's... Today's your birthday, right? It's today?"

"It is!" Evie bounced in delight, then pounced on him for a hug. "You remembered!"

"Of course I did!" Sokka replied, hugging her back and ignoring the fact that he almost hadn't. "Happy Birthday!!! I'm sorry your birthday's so close to finals -- that's gotta suck."

"It's not the best possible timing, no, but really, it does mean I have something to cheer me up as I study," Evie said, bouncing back, and then shaking her present. "Oooo. Let's seeeeee." She ripped open the wrapping and opened the box, her face lighting up with delight. "Sokka! It's lovely! Ooo, should I put it on now?"

"Yes. Yes, you should." Sokka grinned. "...Do you like it? I still think I should have gotten the green one. Or... No, I like this one. ...Do you think green might match your outfits better? Because belts that clash are SO not on."

"I adore it!" Evie gushed, fumbling with the catch at the back. "And no, this is the perfect color, I have lots and lots of blue skirts, green wouldn't match half as well!" She fastened it over her skirt, holding her blouse up a little to see it. "See? Isn't that lovely?"

"I guess so," Sokka said. "I still think green would..."

He smacked himself in the face. "It's LOVELY. And so are you. I'm glad you like it." He smiled at her. "So, are you planning anything special? Want to go out for dinner or something?"

"I hadn't anything planned, and dinner would be splendid. Perhaps Chinese again?" Evie said hopefully, spinning around one way, then the other, and giving her new belt a little shimmy. "You can order and tell me what the menu says again."
