How did your nation come to be?
Established in c. 3150 BCE. The Thirtieth Dynasty was the last native ruling dynasty during the Pharaonic epoch. It fell to the Persians in 343 BC after the last native Pharaoh, King Nectanebo II, was defeated in battle. After that, it was conqured by the Greeks (Alexander), the Romans (Octavius Caesar) and various other nations over time. The Byzantines, Muslim Arabs, Ottoman Turks, the French under Napoleon, the Ottoman Empire again, and then it came under the control of the British in 1882, then a protectorate of the British Empire in 1914.

Egypt is famous for its ancient civilization and some of the world's most famous monuments, including the Pyramids and the Great Sphinx. With the opening of the Suez Canal in 1869, it became a major trading center and political crossroads for Africa.

How did your nation come to be?
Gained independence from the United Kingdom on Feb. 28, 1922, and was declared a republic on June 18, 1953. In 2003, the Egyptian Movement for Change, popularly known as Kifaya, was launched to seek a return to democracy and greater civil liberties.

Egypt is one of the most populous nations in Africa, and is a major political and cultural hub.

Evie so far this session had met lots of new people, including Anne, who was at least from close to 1917, had fun re-learning knife work with Irulan, baking pies with Door and Raph and Faile, playing flag football, and hanging out and breaking rules with Sokka.
