Evie smoothed down her dress, and wondered if it was too old-fashioned, then went back to trying to make her hair behave while she waited for Zack.

Layla was moving around the room at a speed that was probably not recommended with the height of heels she was wearing, making sure she had everything, and looked as perfect as possible. Just because this was a friend-date didn't mean she didn't want to impress Dean, if it was possible. "Evie! Tell me I shouldn't be nervous?"

"You shouldn't be nervous," Evie said instantly. "You look lovely! And Dean is very nice. You're going to have a wonderful time." She fussed wit her skirt, then asked, "Do I look all right? Not too old-fashioned?"

"Not at all. You look wonderful," Layla said, smiling. "Zack's going to flip when he sees you."

"You really think so?" Evie smiled hopefully. "it's my first date. Not my first dance, but the first one with an escort. I want it to go well."

"I'm sure it'll go well. The Student Council worked super hard to make sure everything tonight will be perfect. All you've got to do is get there with Zack, and everything else will fall into place."
