Today was the day. Ianto had planned it all carefully. Jack didn't remember Adam's time in the Hub, but there was something left that would bring it all back...
"Jack, I found this in the archives this morning, do you know where it came from?" Ianto held out the thin file folder innocently.
"Hmm?" Jack took the folder and opened it. "There's that name again..Adam. Who the hell is Adam?" He started to read the contents, his face going absolutely white, the paper shaking in his hands.
"Jack? Sir, are you ok?" Ianto was loving the look of anguish on the other man's face, but carefully kept it concealed.
Tears started running down Jack's face. "But, no, this can't be....where did you get this, Ianto?" His voice breaking.
"I told you, Sir. In the archives. Jack, what is this about? Will you please tell me what is wrong? I started reading it, but didn't understand. Who is Gray?"
Jack remained silent, misery evident on his face.
"Jack, Captain John mentioned him too. Please, talk to me. Let me help you." Ianto trailed a caressing finger down Jack's face, wiping the tears away.
The voice, when it came, was low and shaky, "Is everyone else gone for the day?"
"Yes, Owen was the last to leave about an hour ago."
Jack stood up and walked over to his liquor cabinet, pulling out a bottle of whiskey and two glasses. He poured them each a stiff drink and gulped his down in one swallow, immediately pouring himself another.
"Maybe it's time I did tell you, Ianto. You won't tell anyone else and you deserve to know, especially since..." his voice trailed off.
"Especially since what, Jack?" Ianto kept his voice gentle.
"I know we haven't really talked much about our relationship, just enjoyed the time we've spent together, but before I tell you about Gray I need to tell you how I feel about you."
Ianto moved to kneel in front of Jack's chair and reached out to embrace the older man. "It's ok, Jack, you don't have to say anything."
"Yes, I do. I've kept it to myself for long enough, but I want you to know." He reached out to bring Ianto's eyes up to his. "Things have happened in my life that made me afraid to love anyone ever again, you know most of what happened already, including how my wife killed herself and our unborn child to get away from me...the monster she thought I was. I kept myself closed off for years because of that, not wanting to put anyone else through it, or go through it again myself. But something has happened to me over the last several months, especially since I came back from this last time with the Doctor. I went through hell while I was away, but what kept me going was the thought of coming back here to you, even though I was afraid that you wouldn't want me back after I left you with no goodbyes or anything. But you did, you took me back and soothed my nightmares. You trusted me, even when I kept things from you. You followed me down into the depths and gave me what I needed, then held me close after and comforted me. I trust you, Ianto Jones, more than I've ever trusted anyone. And I can't deny what is between us anymore. I love you. I love you so much. You're my world and I would be nothing without you."
Ianto closed his eyes so Jack wouldn't see the triumph in them. Then he leaned up and kissed him gently, holding him close, telling him without words that everything was going to be ok. When they broke apart, Jack sighed, realizing he'd finally gotten it right. This time it would work, it would be perfect.
"Thank you, Jack. Let's go downstairs where we can be more comfortable." Ianto suggested. "Then you can tell me about Gray."

They settled onto the small couch that Jack had in his living area, the bottle of whiskey on the table in front of them. Jack's head was resting on Ianto's shoulder and Ianto's arm held him close.
"Gray was my younger brother." Jack started. "I come from the 51st century, from a place called the Boeshane Peninsula. It was a beautiful little place, next to the sea. I had a happy childhood with my mum, my dad and Gray. We lived under constant threat of invasion though. Most of the time they passed over us, but that day they didn't. They attacked. My dad told Gray and I to stay together and to run and hide. He was going back to find Mum. I was holding onto Gray's hand and we were running across the sand, looking for a place to hide. I was so scared. I didn't notice when Gray's hand slipped out of mine, I was just running to get away, to save myself. I finally found a place to hide and looked around for Gray, but he wasn't there. I couldn't see him anywhere. I started backtracking, looking for him, calling his name. There was no answer. Dead bodies were everywhere, and I searched them all for Gray, but he wasn't there. I thought maybe he'd gone back home, so I went there. I didn't find Gray, but I did find my dad. Dead. There was nothing I could do for him. Mum came out and saw us together. She was distraught, but that was nothing to when she found out about Gray. Losing her husband and her youngest son on the same day was too much for her and she went insane. She died in an asylum a couple years later. I looked for Gray for years, but could never find a trace of him. I have no idea what happened to him. And it was all my fault, because I wasn't looking out for him. I was the big brother, I should've been looking out for him." Jack's voice broke and tears started streaming down his face. "My fault, always, everything my fault."
Ianto rubbed his hands up and down Jack's arms and back. Letting him cry himself out, soothing him. Finally Jack calmed down and lay quiet in Ianto's arms.
"Punish me, Ianto. Please, I need it." Jack's voice seemed to come from a distance.
"No. I won't do that to you again, Jack." Ianto's voice was firm. "It doesn't help you, it just keeps you in that dark place. You need to come out into the light, Jack. And I can help you with that." Ianto was amazed at his acting skills and the stupid git just ate it up. "Let me give you what you truly deserve."

They were both laying naked on Jack's bed, caressing each other softly, letting the passion heat slowly. Ianto kissed down the side of Jack's neck, nipping playfully at his shoulder, before moving down to kiss his chest and the smooth skin above his waist. His hands were gentle, caressing up Jack's arms and down his sides to his hips and then around to move up and down his back in long, sweeping strokes. He moved back up Jack's body to capture his lips with his own. Kissing him passionately, letting their tongues mingle together in a sweet dance of love. His hands moved down to cup Jack's butt and then around to softly caress his swollen cock. He moved his hands back up to Jack's shoulders and looked down at his lover. Jack was lost in a haze of passion, his own hands exploring Ianto just as throughly as Ianto had been exploring him. Ianto moved over Jack and brought his gaze up to meet his. He ground his hips into Jack's and they both sighed as their cocks met and caressed each other. Ianto leaned down to capture Jack's mouth again, reaching for the lubricant on the bedside table. He gently prepared Jack for entry and then sheathed himself to the hilt in Jack's warm body. He started moving slowly, in and out of the tight warmth that surrounded him, at the same time pumping Jack's cock with his hand in rythym with his thrusts. Jack's moans of pleasure started to crescendo as the passion built inside. Ianto moved faster, letting himself go as he encouraged Jack to do the same. Jack called out his name as his passion broke and Ianto called out a name too, smiling insanely at the immediate reaction in the other man.
"What did you just call me?" Jack asked.
"Your name."
"That's not my name." The tension in Jack's voice was palpable.
"Yes it is. It's the name your parents gave you when you were born."
Jack was fighting to get out from under him, but he kept him pinned there and wouldn't let him go. Jack looked up into the blue eyes in the face above him.
"But how do you know that name? I've never told anyone in this time what my real name is."
"Mmmm...the key words are 'in this time'. I've always known what your name is you worthless coward."
"But how? Who are you?" Jack demanded, but there was a desperation to his voice that begged not to be told the answer.
"How?" he scoffed. "Please, the number of times I heard Mum and Dad call your name. The number of times I called your name, running after you on the dunes, begging you to wait up for me. I'd never forget your name."
His eyes watched as Jack struggled not to accept what he was hearing. The panic that appeared in his eyes as he could no longer deny it, and the pending madness that approached with his acceptance of the truth.
"Your name has stuck with me all the years I was imprisoned with those creatures. It echoed in my mind when I escaped. And I vowed to track you down and pay you back for every last thing I suffered at their hands." He allowed his hate and disgust for the pathetic person still laying naked, and spent from passion in his arms to show. "Your name is what's kept me going, knowing that one day I'd have my revenge on you." His insane smile lit up his face. "It was me that told your wife the truth about you, I even gave her the gun she used to kill herself. I was the one that gave the Master the information he needed to hurt you the worst while you were on the Valiant. Hell, it was me who spent all that year torturing you. And you never once suspected. You pathetic, worthless, selfish fool." He could see Jack's sanity slipping away faster and faster...
"Now, you tell me. What. Is. My. Name?"
The madness descended completely over the older man's face as he cried out his tormentor's name.
"Gray!"
