Tax return...
This is driving me CRAZY. I mean serious hair pulling crazy. I am sure the help fields used to be a bit more helpful than this...
I am now trying franticly to work out what Service company income is and whether I count. I am sure that wasn't in there before.
*sobs*
(explanation: I am partly self-employed, so according to this I have a 'company', but there are no shares as such, apart from me. I am sure this makes perfect sense really, but my mind feels as if it is going to explode)
Service company income
Please enter an amount if you have received any form of income (including employment income and dividends) during the year in question from a company through which you provided your services personally and of which you are a sole or joint shareholder.
Complete if the company’s income is derived:
* wholly or mainly from services provided to third parties by you personally, or
* wholly or mainly from services provided to third parties by you personally and your fellow shareholders and your shareholding is directly linked to the level of company profit you generate (which is, linked to the amount paid by third parties in respect of your personal services).
Do not enter anything if you are a shareholder and company officer of a company and the company’s income is derived:
* wholly or mainly from the provision of the services of company employees whose total income is treated as employment income, or
* derived wholly or mainly from the manufacture/provision of goods.
