2008 in review memes!
HAPPY NEW YEAR, EVERYBODY! :D
Since I liked these three memes last year, I'm doing them again.
FANDOM MEME
1: What fandoms did you acquire in 2008?
Dark Angel(which was on my list to acquire from last year), CSI, Life on Mars(ABC), Battlestar Galactica(totally my new fave), and Scrubs(I'm listing this one again since I watched the entire show from start to finish this year.)
2: What fandoms did you let go of in 2008?
I basically let go of NCIS, even though ljmckay got me to watch a few episodes of it.
3: What fandoms did you mean to get into but didn't in 2008? Why?
Chuck is still on my list, but I'm not getting into that until Faith finishes NCIS and starts Cupid. ;)
4: What fandoms do you intend on checking out in 2009?
I think just Chuck so far. :)
5: What fandoms do you think you might let go of in 2009 unless things significantly improve?
I think I'm pretty happy with all my shows right now except for SGA(see #6)
6: What fandoms do you think you'll never let go of no matter how crappy they get? Why?
Same answer as last year: Stargate Atlantis, ‘cause of all the attractive males. :D
7: What show impressed you most in 2008?
Hmm. Tie between Battlestar Galactica to date and s4 of Lost. Lost improved so amazingly much that I fell in love with it all over again, and BSG is just...pure awesome. :D
8: What show impressed you least in 2008?
lol. Definitely SGA. The storylines have been boring/stupid/meh for the most part*, except for the Rodney/Jennifer arc, which has made me the happiest I think I've ever been with Stargate. :D

My favorite video this year (of my own):
Wow. Do I really have to pick just one... Meh. Tie between "What About Now?" and "Comatose", just because I'm really proud of the way the editing turned out in "Comatose", and of course I consider "What About Now?" to be one of my personal best. :)
My least favorite:
"Never Meant to Hurt You"? I dunno. I didn't really have a "least" favorite vid this year.
Most successful video:
Hehe. Probably "White and Nerdy". Even people who had never seen NCIS loved it. It was just so much fun and had so many different characters in it, it was hard not to like. :)
Video most underappreciated by the universe, in my opinion:
lol. Aside from sache8, (*hugs*), I didn't get much feedback at all for "Comatose", which is a vid that I spent a lot of time and effort on. It's not a pairing that I really like, but I put a lot of love and thought into making that video and so I was kind of sad that not many people looked into it.
Most fun video to make:
"White and Nerdy", hands down. SO much fun. I mean, I got to rewatch old NCIS eps that I hadn't seen in forever, I got to include Kavanagh in a vid, AND it had some of the best(imho) lyric matches I've ever done. :)
Hardest video to make:
"Not Done Yet". :P. There was a LOT of difficult timing in this video. Nothing like "Backwards" of course, but it was still a pain in the butt. I'm totally happy with the result though, so... :)
The things I've learnt this year...
WMM on Windows XP will stretch a 4:3 clip and make it look purty and 16:9-y. WMM on Vista will not. ALL my s1-s6 SG-1 footage is 4:3. Vista sucks.
Things to work on in 2008:
Setting aside time for vidding while in college. As you can see, as soon as I went off to college, vidding pretty much stopped.

Looking back, did you write more fic than you thought you would this year, less, or about what you'd predicted?
I finally finished GP this year, and I wrote 3 R/K fics, so... about what I thought? :)
What's your favourite story of the year? Not the most popular, but the one that makes you happiest?
You mean aside from finishing Growing Pains? ;) Well my crossover prompt stories "Distracted" and "Pedal to the Metal" were insanely fun, but I'd probably have to go with "Some Hearts..." I'm SO in love with Rodney/Jennifer right now. It was great to try writing a non-GP pairing even though I didn't feel too comfortable with Jennifer yet. :)
Did you take any writing risks this year? What did you learn from them?
Well, I started a Rodney/Jennifer series that branches off from canon. Other than that, I didn't really take any real risks...
Do you have any fanfic or profic goals for the New Year?
I've got at least four more Rodney/Jennifer stories that I'd like to write. But I want to finish "Collide" first. :) And then there's the matter of my 44 other John/Evie prompts...
My Best Story of the Year
I think Growing Pains is going to have to tie with "Some Hearts..." I just really love them both so much. And...yeah...That's all I have to say about it. :)
Story Most Under appreciated by the Universe in My Opinion
I don't even know. I said GP last year, so I don't wanna say it again this year... I guess I'll go with "Some Hearts...", even though it got a decent number of reviews. :)
Most Fun Story
Tie between "Distracted" and "Pedal to the Metal". Those were SO much fun to write. I mean...Vala driving Lightning McQueen? Good times. :)
Most Sexy Story
*giggles* Even though I put it for last year, too...I'm gonna have to go with "Growing Pains". ;) I mean, come on, I ended up naming the 'verse "Sex, Lies, and Puddlejumpers". XD
Hardest Story to Write
The hardest story to get started was actually "Pedal to the Metal". It took me forever to get a decent idea for how Vala and Lightning could possibly meet.
Biggest Surprise
Well, I totally wasn't planning on writing a Rodney/Jennifer story, let alone three. So I was very happy that I was able to come up with a unique idea for setting up their relationship(well, I THOUGHT it was unique until "Brain Storm" aired :P).
Biggest Accomplishment:
Finishing "Growing Pains". 'Nuff said.
