So...good news is...THEY OFFERED ME THE JOB! *pauses to throw confetti*
Bad news is...he basically told me that I need to decide by tomorrow evening or he's going to start the interview process up again.
Problem: I still have an interview with the elementary school on Friday.
I told him this and asked very politely if I could wait until I see how that goes. He said the odds are high that he won't have offered the position to someone else by then, BUT it is a possibility.
Thing is, if I were offered both jobs, I'm 80% sure that I would pick the elementary school just because I like the age better. The problem is confounded by the fact that I don't HAVE the guarantee of being offered both. I have one offer and one interview. If I say yes, I might regret the job once I start it. (However--I can do anything for a year. It won't kill me.) On the flip side, if I decline the intermediate position and the elementary doesn't end up offering me a job, I've just thrown away job security and a salary that's literally 4 times what I'm making now.
