Eureka?

Alright, flist. I've been waiting a while to ask this question. Now that Eureka is in its final season (and a finale episode with closure has been promised) and the first four seasons are still up for streaming on Netflix...is this a show that I would like and should get into? I mean, obviously cast-wise and guest-star-wise the answer would be yes ( Read more... )

Aww, that makes me sad. I think I've said that before.

In the early seasons, it reminds me of early NCIS a bit - maybe with a dash of Psych? (I say as someone who's rarely watched Psych. It's Happy, mostly, till the end of the first season.) It's pretty frothy, but still managed to break my heart and definitely picked up later and Season 4, omg. They done some plot things which often sci fi shows would not follow through with that I love.

(I think it makes me sad because NO ONE TALKING TO ME ABOUT IT.)

But then, Leverage was enjoyable but didn't really capture my attention, and Sherlock's not on my list at all, so that probably says everything, huh. *g*

SHERLOCK SHOULD BE ON YOUR LIST. IT SHOULD BE ON EVERYONE'S LIST.

It's only on Jeana's list because I made her put it there. ;)

Plus, it's not a massive time investment. 9 hours, that's all.

And the characters and the acting and the writing and omg the editing and the cinematography and the acting and have I mentioned the writing and the editing?? AHHHH love this show.

*cough*

So just saying...worth a shot... ;)

So many dudes though. So. Many. Dudes.

I may give in eventually. It depends.

Oh, interesting point! D'you know, I'd never actually realized that before?

But the characters (and the actors) are so individual and nuanced I never really think, "Dudes!" I tend to think "Sherlock! John! Moriarty!" So for whatever that's worth.

Not trying to push. Just gushing. :D

Heh.

For me, it's pretty obvious. I mostly know my tv show traits by now and it's pretty much: if there is no regularly occurring main female, I'm not going to end up attached to it. Doesn't matter how nuanced the men are; I can find nuanced men everywhere, including on shows with women.

Having said that: it's sometimes a bit different with movies, and I understand (now) that Sherlock is more akin to miniseries/movies.

That's awesome that you know yourself that well. :) I should analyze my tv show traits...

Sherlock is more akin to miniseries/movies

It is that. :)

Science fiction and/or drama containing dudes who are either: a) all fairly intelligent; b) occasionally alpha male leadery (though this may be coming from NCIS and I'm not sure that'd still be relevant *g*); c) are probably at least slightly quirky; d) all of the above?

;D

Although, I'd like to know what your actual traits are.

Wow, I think you've totally pegged it!!

I think I tend more toward the drama than the sci-fi these days, but otherwise I think you've got it spot on.

Maybe add healthy doses of UST. ;D OH, and high levels of sarcasm and/or dry humor.
