Yeeeeah... I finished this book like two months ago, but forgot to type up a review... Now that it's been so long, I don't remember too much specifically, so bulletpoints will have to suffice.
- The Ron/Hermione and Ginny/Harry felt very heavy-handed and sudden, like JK finally decided, "Alright! I'm nearing the end! This is who I'm paring up! Ship, ship, ship!" ;)
- I didn't expect the half-blood prince to turn out to be Snape. For some reason (even though I was pretty sure he was a pure-blood), I was convinced that it was going to turn out to be Dumbledore. Harry wasn't with Snape too much in this book, but he was spending a huge amount of good time with Dumbledore, perhaps to make up for their lack of relationship in OOtP. They were doing so much together, and I knew that his death was coming, so I thought maybe the title was a tribute to all of that.
- Yes, I teared up. I knew it was coming, and that it would be Snape. But I still teared up. I've always loved Dumbledore (except for in OOtP), and I was very sad that he died.
- The beginning of this book is when my mind finally changed about Draco. When I saw how Narcissa was begging and pleading on behalf of the son she loved, I finally went, "You know what? He's just a kid. A misguided, angry, malicious butthole, but still a kid. I guess I don't want him to die in the end anymore."
- Umm...I feel like I had more thoughts. But I did read this a while ago...
