Okay. So this past week has been uber long. I'm talking long like skipping the equator in high heels long. Easter was fun and thank goodness we had Monday off. This was tech week for spring show which means staying at school until 10 for rehearsals. I always have a love/hate relationship with tech week. It's fun while we're there and I love working on shows, but homework and studying piles up and stress levels get obnoxious. That stress plus the stress of my U of I audition was making me crazy.
Speaking of which, this morning was my audition! I've been practicing several hours a day for the past couple months. I can't remember the last time I didn't spent at least half of my lunch hour in a practice room and today was the big day. It actually went really really well. I felt good when I warmed up, practiced my piece and my scales. I ended up not doing my bass piece, but that's okay because I wasn't too sure about it anyway. So I go in the room and it was great - I wasn't shaking, sweating, vomiting, stuttering or anything! While I feel infinately better about how I did this time than Solo & Ensemble Festival, I don't think it was quite enough to make MI. That's okay, though. I'm not expecting it and I'm just happy I tried and I know I can get through a college audition without dying, literally. So yay! Snaps for music!!
Okay, well i suppose i really should get to my homework. Or I could read more... because Da Vinci Code is awesome and I can't put it down.... :o)
