(no subject)
Looking at my bitten black-painted fingernails, I had a very vivid flashback to high school. And thought I was late to choir. I haven't painted my nails black since I was 14 and going through my pseudo-goth phase. It also makes me re-covet these star-encrusted stompy boots that I saw in 1999. If only for 49 hours.
I don't want to wear my costume to work because my dress is 40 year old polyblend and is ridiculously itchy. But...but...
Oh! I have a Marie Curie costume. I was unable to Steampunk-modify it to the degree I wanted, but it's still brilliant because, omg, Marie Curie!
My Halloween costume consists of:
1 aforementioned itchy black dress. Circa 1965. - $3
6 Buttons on the sleeve hems - $0.50
1 lace collar. - $3
1 gray lab coat with the radiation symbol sharpied on the breast pocket - $3
Grey herring-bone pattern/weave tights - already in my closet
1 sword glowstick 'Radium' sans hilt - $1
1 necklace glowstick - $1
Grand total: $11.50
Thrift store for the win.
