Finally, finally, finally, we got to do some actual fencing today!
That was most enjoyable, and highly amusing, even if most of what I was doing was retreating and parrying as if my life depended on it. I was able to get some good hits in every once and a while, but for the most part, I kept getting whacked with the foil. I predict many bruises (yay!), but I really don't mind, because it was so much fun.
And I've got to say, there's just something so cool about forcing someone twice your height to back off, lest they be run through with your sword! (OK, not really run through, but still....)
Maestro Hayes told us that from here on out, most of our class time will be spent fencing. Hoorah!
