I was wrong.

I was wrong (it happens) the calendar shipment came today not Wednesday - all 111 cases! Too bad there isn't a fixture to put them on. That would make sense. The bad part is that at this time I have no idea when we will open so those 111 cases will be in my backroom at the store. I've hired staff and need to keep them busy but now until the kiosk gets going there are fewer hours to do it with. You'd think that a company that has been doing this for over a decade would manage to get it right after all this time. Guess not.

Lets see - tomorrow I have a conference call at 8:00 AM. Once again I was drafted for this (shades of the Harry Potter committee). I was told this was just to be a conference call but the follow up email said it would be a conference call & committee. Its for discussing African - American books (both fiction and non-fiction). I have a rather large section in my store so they decided that I could be on the call. There are only 3 other managers in our region on the call. I think it'll be interesting if nothing else. Today my boss said that I was to take notes of the call and then email her with them. Then she will send it on to the other district managers. This is just a glimpse of what my job is becoming more administrator than bookselling. I'm not sure I like it.

Enough whining from me.
