Tezuka is my ideal big brother. He would completely overshadow me, show me up as the slacker I am, demand that I correct my bad habits, and generally make me a much better person. I would return the favour by making it my goal to cause him to laugh and/or blush in public as many times as possible.

he reminds me so much of an austen hero, both in his merits and his flaws. "he had not yet learnt to be laughed at." :( Ryoma would teach Tezuka how to laugh at himself. :(

Doesn't Elizabeth set that as one of her goals in married life with Darcy?

And yes, we have had the Tezuka = Darcy discussion and squeed over it together. They're the sort of people I admire and wish I were actually worthy of; I'd claim Tezuka as my boyfriend, except I know he'd never date me (and not just because he's canonically gay). Older brother is second best--but what a second best!

right, right, and how can you not want a kid like tezuka (i still really think of him as a kid in a lot of ways even though he's, you know, forty - so more like my adorable *younger* brother) to be happy as he can be? and obviously his happiness comes from ryoma tennis. and i wouldn't want to get in the way of their love his game. ;))

Ahahaha, and I didn't even realise that I realised who you were. If that makes sense. I was too caught up in wondering how obvious I was being, what with the whole having posted about Nii-san!Tezuka before, plus referring to a conversation we had.

I think I will refer to Tezuka as Nii-san from now on. Nii-chan if I'm feeling particularly playful, but he's so overwhelming I think I'd be more respectful most of the time. (I shall call him Nii-san and he shall be my Nii-san ( ... )
