well i have never seen a terrence malick film before and admittedly i fell asleep during the nature/dinosaurs montage lksjdfh
but i actually left the film really deeply disquieted and freaked out and i did feel like a lot of the imagery was more christian than i could really handle, like towards the end i seriously felt a little hyperventilate-y with all the water and the feet kissing and the hands uplifted in the air blotting out the sun, it was seriously freaking me out. and i couldn't understand why the jump shots were necessary -- i mean, disorientation and claustrophobia, got it, but why am i supposed to be feeling disoriented and claustrophobic? -- or the sound editing making everything LOUDsoftLOUD either raspy whispers or totally blowing out the speakerslkjlksjdfh like idk, just... why..... what is the purpose of this...
i guess i should rewatch the film and not fall asleep during the beginning this time before i really judge it, but also i guess maybe i am just a philistine kljslkdjfhjs
