Yahoo's PR department has all but confirmed.

You can export all your existing bookmarks to html here. After that, ........well.

Diigo lets you import links from delicious and it's free; however its search and tagging functionality are limited, and apparently it "doesn't play nice" with dreamwidth links? eta: not sure what "doesn't play nice" ( Read more... )

Yes, Google lets you import bookmarks, and you can create Public lists. I'm not sure about making individual one's public, although I think you can just set your whole bookmark profile public. I'll have to look at mine.

So far as I can tell, you can create a public list (like a BB list could be created by someone and made public) but individual bookmark profiles are private. You can share individual bookmarks with people though.

Also, Google has a good tagging option outside of doing lists.

Do you happen to know how or if you can make google tags public? I'm wrestling with Google Bookmarks, but I haven't found out any way to do so yet, since their lists don't seem to support tags.

I don't know about making tags public, I don't think so, I think the best option is lists - which is sort of similar, but not equal.

I got nothing! I've got two different accounts I use on there too. Shoot!

*goes to search for alternatives*

If I find something, I'll let you know!

I am in denial and convinced that somehow, someone has to preform a Christmas miracle and decide to buy up Del. I just can't imagine all my years of tagging and bookmarking disappearing into the internet ether. AND I USE DEL FOR FINDING FIC TO READ...AND...AND...I'm going to go cry now.
