The big book retailers that sell music

Have any of you in the big book retailers that also sell music dealt with the people who have seen Mamma Mia running into your store to buy the soundtrack?

I'm going to keep my personal opinions of ABBA to myself given I dislike that kind of music entirely just by having different taste (sorry to the ABBA fans here), however, I've had a hard time dealing with these customers. I'm always happy to see customers in the store spending money but this has been a really different thing to deal with altogether. I've been asked, "HAVE YOU SEEN THIS MOVIE? IT'S FABULOUS" and my reply has been, "eh, not my thing" and they have pushed it and I've given them the friendly insistence that "ABBA was way before my time, I guess I had to be there to appreciate it, I'm more into bands of the 70s like The Who and Led Zeppelin, but that's just me I guess."

I've gotten the "YOU JUST KILLED MY CAT AND RAPED MY GRANDMOTHER AS THE ENCORE!" looks when I've said that. One guy took 5 minutes to tell me why I had to see it with the words "even if you don't like the music, you'll want to stand up and dance your ass off." Hearing an old man with Harry Potter style thick black rimmed glasses tell me that was just scary.

One of our supervisors hates music in general, doesn't listen to any music, and says that she has found the ABBA/Mamma Mia soundtrack people to just be way over the top in making it public that they have seen the movie and insisting you must see it too. We've even joked about whether or not the movie has subliminal messages in it telling them to spread the word to the point of being annoying. I know our personal hell with that soundtrack has not stopped since the movie was released and I haven't been the only one to find the people coming in for it to be acting like they found Jesus.

Any experiences to share on this crowd? I'd love to hear them.. lol
