Giles peeked in the wine at the gift baskets. The shop was known for it's fine chocolates and wine, and he nodded. "Brilliant idea, love," he said, placing a kiss on the top of her head. "Perhaps we could get something for ourselves too." Giles planned on spending as much time in bed with his wife as possible over the next two days.

He led her over to the door of the shop, and opened it for her before following her in. The shop smelled like chocolate and Giles took a deep breath in. "Smells wonderful in here," he said to his wife as he looked around. "Why don't you pick a basket out for them. I'm going to look at the chocolates."

Giles walked toward the back of the shop, where they had free samples. A woman offered him a strawberry and told him about their new dipping chocolate. He dipped the strawberry into the chocolate and took a bite. "Mmm," he muttered. He glanced back and looked at Fred, while thinking about how erotic it'd be to feed his wife chocolate-covered strawberries.

He quickly cleared his mind of the naughty thoughts he was thinking - he didn't want to embarrass himself in the middle of a chocolate and wine shop - and thanked the woman before picking up a container of the chocolate. Giles then went over to Fred to see how she was doing with the gift basket.

Fred grinned at Rupert and nodded before he headed to the back of the store, then turned to look at the gift baskets sitting in the display by where she was standing. They ranged from the simple with one bottle of wine and one box of chocolate to the very grand with several boxes and a few bottles. She was trying to decide what to get when a saleswoman approached.

"Can I help you, dear?" she asked.

Nodding, Fred looked up and pointed at the baskets. "My husband and I want to get a gift for a couple of friends of ours, and we thought one of these baskets would nice, but I can't decide which one to get."

"Are your friends an actual couple?"

"Yes, most definitely," she answered, remembering how Charlotte and Willow had been around each other for the last few weeks.

"So you'd like something they could share together instead of splitting between them," the woman said, looking through the baskets. She reached up and pulled one down, setting it on the counter next to the display. "How about this one - it has a bottle of our finest Vin de Glaciere, a box of dark chocolate and a box of shortbread. Perfect for your friends to share. There's also a CD of classical music included in this particular basket."

"Perfect," Fred said. She looked up at Rupert as he walked back to join her at the counter and reached out to tuck her arm into his. "I think Willow and Charlotte will love this one. It even has music for them to listen to together."

Giles examined the basket and nodded. "It's perfect, love," he said before kissing her temple. He sat the container of dipping chocolate on the counter and waited for the woman to ring up their purchases. Giles asked the woman to have the basket delivered to Charlotte's flat, and she nodded before writing down the address.

He took Fred's hand again and led her out of the shop. Down the street was a small bakery that had outdoor seating. "Lets go get some tea and pastries," he said, leading her down the pavement. When they got to the bakery, he found them a table and pulled a chair out for her. Once she was seated, he down beside her.

It was turning out to be a beautiful morning and Giles smiled. "I'm glad we're doing this together," he said as took her hand. "I love being able to spend time with you. Now, what would you like? I'll go inside and order it for you."

Fred smiled when he suggested they get something to eat, especially since they hadn't had anything that morning except for some tea before they had left to drop Lorne off at the Slayer house. Sitting down when Rupert pulled her chair out for her, she thanked him softly before turning to him once he sat down beside her.

"I'm enjoying this too. It's nice to actually get to be a regular married couple for a few days without having to worry about vampires and demons and other evil, bad things possibly ruining our day." She squeezed his hand in hers, liking the way it felt to hold it. She didn't think she'd ever get tired of it. "Not that I hate what we do, but it's still nice to get away from it from time to time."

Still holding his hand, she picked up the menu sitting on the table with her free one and gave it a quick readthrough. "I think I'd like a croissant," she said. "With butter and jam if they have it."

Giles raised Fred's hand up and softly kissed it before standing from the table. "I'll be right back, love," he said, placing her hand on the table. He went inside and went up to the counter. The young woman behind it took his order and a few moments she was handing him a bag and two paper cups full of tea. Giles paid for it and thanked her before going back outside.

He stood in the doorway for a moment and watched his wife. The sun was out that morning and she was sitting right in, and she looked so beautiful. He was the luckiest man alive. "Here you go, love," he said as he finally went back to the table. "I didn't know what flavor jam you wanted so I had them put all they had in the bag."

Giles sat the bag and tea down on the table before sitting down. He took the croissant out of the bag and handed it to Fred, before pulling out several packs of jam, along with a plastic knife. He then pulled out his blueberry muffin, along with a few packets of butter.

"I got you sugar for your tea. It's a bit strong here so I didn't know if you wanted sugar with it," he said as he took a drink out of his own cup. He was used to the tea but didn't know if Fred would be or not. He then put his cup down and looked over at her before tucking a strand of hair behind her ear. "You're so beautiful, Fred."

Fred sat back as she waited for Rupert to come back, enjoying the sunlight and the pretty day with the breeze. She was definitely liking living in England - it was different from the States in some ways, but it was still an amazing country.

A couple of children went running, tosing a ball between them. Fred watched them with a smile, not noticing the man in the shop across the way, looking her way. Rupert had mentioned them having children at some point, and that was something she knew she wanted with him. She wondered when they might - she knew that she had just recently started working at the lab, so she wasn't sure if it was fair for her to end up having to go on maternity leave so soon, but it was something she was thinking about.

As the children disappeared into the distance down the street, Rupert came out from inside, holding the two cups of tea and the bag. Neither of them saw the man in the shop disappear as well.

Taking her croissant from her husband, she also took the packet of strawberry jam. "Thank you," she said before taking the tea and tasting it. It was a bit strong, so she put one of the packs of sugar into it. She had just started to spread the jam on her croissant when she felt Rupert brushing her hair back from her face and heard him call her beautiful. Blushing a bit, she looked up at him. "You definitely make me feel that way."

She leaned over and gave him a kiss, then leaned her forehead against his when they parted. "You know, Lorne told me this morning that you're a great guy. I told him I most definitely agree. I also happen to think that I'm probably the luckiest girl in the world right now."

Giles cupped his wife's face and stroked his thumb over her cheek. "And I'm the luckiest bloke in the whole universe," he murmured before leaning forward to kiss her again. He felt himself stir a little so he pulled back and gave her a small smile. "Perhaps we should finish eating before I get the urge to knock everything off the table and shag you senseless." He kissed her cheek and pulled away.

Picking up his muffin, he started to slowly spread some butter over it before glancing at Fred again. "I forgot to tell you but on Friday I received a call from the agency we hired to check the house over," Giles said before taking a bite of his muffin. "They said everything is in order and everything works. No electrical or pipe problems. They also checked the balcony that's attached to our bedroom and said it's safe to be on."

Giles took another bite of his muffin and a small swallow of tea. "I thought perhaps we could get a few pieces of outdoor furniture. Some of the balcony and some for the back garden," he continued. "And with the fence around it, we can do whatever we want out there and they won't see."

Fred raised her eyebrows at the idea of Rupert making love to her in the middle of the thoroughfare, in plain sight of everyone. She felt her cheeks pinken a bit. All he had to do was talk to her about things like that sometimes, and she could feel herself getting turned on. "Probably a good idea," she agreed, "since I don't think I'd be able to stop you."

She took a bite of her croissant, listening to the news about the house. She was glad to hear that everything was find with it. It was a gorgeous place, and she would have hated to think that they would have to gut it or make major renovations just to make it liveable. The previous owners had obviously done a great job with the upkeep.

And the idea of furniture for the back garden and the balcony sounded wonderful. She felt the heat rising even more at his final comment. "Wh--whatever?" she whispered. "I don't know, I can think quite a few things we could do. Might have to make a list and go through it one item at a time."

Once they finished their pastries and tea, they got up from the table, taking each other's hands as they headed down the thoroughfare toward the garden shop.
