Cinq (Video)
*When the PCD starts recording, it shows the outside of St. Basil's Cathedral, angled so that the sun is visible in the sky. Strewn on the ground are the bodies of three unnamed civilians, limbs bent at odd angles or torn completely off. But the main focus of the scene is on someone still alive. In the center of the screen is a makeshift cross and hanging from it is none other than Merlin, missing one wing and horribly beaten. His shirt is torn, showing he's been lashed with something, but that's the least of his injuries. His left arm is clearly broken and the bruises visible on his chest show that he probably has some broken ribs as well. A long bone, like an elongated fingertip, as if from a bat-or dragon-wing pins each of his hands and his feet to the cross and a fourth bone has been driven through his chest and into one lung. The young wizard is still conscious, but unable to do anything but scream in agony.
From offscreen, someone speaks in the tone anyone familiar with the small man would recognize as Albedo's voice.* “Ye have heard that it hath been said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth: / But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also.”
*As he finishes his quote, Albedo flies down, seven blood red angel wings flapping in tandem and shedding feathers, arms and legs in the same position Merlin is forced to hold. His head is dropped initially, the sun almost like a halo behind his white hair. He's shirtless, showing off Jr.'s abdomen scar and red dragon tattoo, and wearing white pants and holding a sharp shard of bone in his right hand, which is dripping blood from gripping the hiltless blade. The second his feet touch the ground next to the cross, his head whips up, his expression a cruel snarl, irises glowing bright purple.* Were that it so easy to forgive sins against flesh and blood. Killing Rubedo before my very eyes was a grave mistake. Let's end this childish game of hide and seek, that is, unless you're afraid you'll end up like this boy? I don't think the citizens of this hovel would be pleased should I have to search for you.
