*The feed clicks on to show Jr. fighting with a young Swan Dragon for a cowboy hat. For once, he's wearing short sleeves that show a multitude of small scratches and fresh bruises on his arms as well as a red dragon tattoo on his arm. After several seconds of struggling to get the hat free without tearing it, he lets go with one hand to try to pry ( Read more... )

So you do have dragons in your world.

[Why would you get a tattoo of something you don't have?]

Huh? *Oh, yeah, no sleeves.* Oh, not really, just legends.

What legends?

Depends on the culture. Cultures that come from the old continent of Europe tend to have lots of legends about huge winged lizards that breathe fire, hoard treasure and eat people. Some religions even describe them as demonic. Places like Asia had giant serpents, like my tattoo, that were considered wise and lucky, sometimes even godly. Then you've got the really old cultures that're completely dead, like ancient Mayans. Quetzalcoatl was the name of their sun god, and he was a feathered and winged serpent.

Hn. Interesting.

Dragons, where I come from, were the original firebenders. They're huge... but they're all gone, now.

Like I said, mine never had the real thing. Kinda gotta wonder why so many different cultures that developed completely separately all had legends about huge, flying reptiles, though, huh?

[Huh. Zuko had never thought of that one before.]

That is a little weird.

I don't know about any other world. I just know we have them in mine.

Of course, that's about all that's the same. Like I said, everyone had completely different views on what they were like.

Worlds can be pretty different. Hell, some might even be fictional where you come from.

[Zuko shrugs.]

I don't have time to read stories and listen to fairytales. What we have in our world is stories of the gods and of the Avatar. Reincarnation. Spirits. Things that matter and have a part of every day life.

We don't tell stories about dragons if we don't have them.

My world's pretty dull if you're used to space travel. All we've got is crap humans come up with. *Okay, his bff is a divine being, but that's personal.*

We don't have things like that. My culture is based on the military and discipline, not... technology and invention. We have tanks and things like that, but we didn't come up with the designs.

I think humans've been around in my world for a hell of a lot longer than most, too. Most people I talk to that use the same timescale are at least 4000 years behind, almost five.

Well, I guess you'd be from my future if you were in the same world.

Probably not the same universe, though. Humans couldn't directly control elements 'til someone came up with the principle behind Ethers.

Yeah. I'm pretty good with fire Ethers. Only other ones I really use are for healing and speeding myself up.
