I hope your experience in reading more widely will introduce you to more women authors you enjoy. While male authors predominate in most genres, I've never found it to be true that women are less likely to write well.

Most men can't write, either.

If you think women can't write, I would suggest that you are reading the wrong books.

most importantly I hate books written by women - not because they are unable to write(think of Inkheart for a moment), no, but because most of them are unable to write and as a consequence lots of my valuable time was wasted.

I would love to know what you are basing this assessment on.

Shoot, does she represent all women now? I feel like I really ought to have received some sort of notice. Maybe in our monthly newsletter?

I kind of thought the same thing, and then I wanted to cry, because Stephenie Meyer is as much a writer as I am a piece of french toast.

Also, I'm a little confused, because the reviewer refers to not liking the genre, but he didn't actually say what genre this book fell under. I wish he had said specifically so I knew what genre he wasn't liking. (And no, "Books Written by The Womens" is not a genre!)

Thank you for this review and for pushing yourself to follow through even though you thought you wouldn't like it. I've never heard of it, nor of the author, so I wouldn't know anything about it if it weren't for your review, and I'm sure the comm here has benefitted from it. It sounds like a pretty interesting book, especially the Webster guy.
