Anne Rice was a great writer before she let success go to her head. Then her ego got in the way of her editor...glad I read her early stuff.

Completely agree - was really quite surprised by how tight her earlier writing was. Won't be in a rush to read the 'New Vampire Chronicles' they've multiplied considerably...
