I have to say something in defense of Ian McEwan

I've had other people tell me his later books are great and less gross. I will probably give McEwan another chance at some point.

What's anti-YA?

anything geared to teens will be YA, and some teens like really dark crud, just like adults. Some just like cruddy crud, which most poeple would prefer to scrape off the bottom of their shoe.
