New month! Sorry I didn't post sooner; I couldn't get to my desk behind all the boxes from our recent move. And of course I changed the passwords on everything because of the whole Heartwhatever and also because it was time, and my laptop doesn't know them, and my master list is in a box somewhere, so I'm behind in my comments and I apologize for

Also, you should see the movie. Not til you've read the book (not so much for the spoilage issue, because there's plenty that got left out of the book so you could still totally enjoy some suspense if you did movie first) but because reading the book first actually makes the movie better. Not that the movie is better than the book - it is a good movie, but it's not THAT good - but having an established relationship with the story enhances your experience of the movie. At least this is what my utterly unscientific research seems to show. Based on conversations I've had with a variety of people over the years it seems to me that people who saw the movie first and THEN read the book were somewhat less satisfied with the movie than people who read the book first and then saw the movie. Which is counter to the typical narrative but then I've always thought that this whole "the book is ALWAYS better than the movie" meme isn't always about the book, actually being better than the movie. In this case, the book is better than the movie, definitely, but the movie is good and I think that you would like it, assuming that you like the book.

And if you don't like the book, I don't even know what to say because I literally cannot fathom anyone not liking the book.

In The Stand, Stephen King has a character think about Watership Down and I don't remember the entire segment but it's basically something like him being surprised to like a story about rabbits so much.

I basically equate the book with furries because the first person I know to absolutely love it is a furry.
