Two Boys Kissing spoiler post

I did enjoy the book, I did cry, but I didn't absolutely fall in love with it. There's a lot going on here with the "Greek chorus" of men who died of AIDS in terms of metaphor, but mostly I felt that using them often slowed the pace of the book until about three quarters of the way in, maybe more.

It is not the first book of Levithan's I would recommend to a reader, but it is a moving one, and I would recommend it to teens more than adults. However, the fact that the AIDS "crisis," which was such a big deal when I was a kid, has been all but forgotten in the mainstream community for the more "progress"-based narrative of Stonewall and gay rights, seems like it'll one day be an added chapter to a later edition of one of our previous selections, Lies My Teacher Told Me.

So what did you think? Were there characters you identified with more strongly than others? A couple that didn't quite add to the storyline? Discuss it here!
