Hana Kimi 2011 remake: first 3 episode overview
since my Hana Kimi marathon will be interupted today by Protect the Boss, let me just make an overview post of the first 3 episodes (well, first 2 since i'm only half way through 3).
well, its not THAT much like the manga, but still, to me, it seems a lot closer to it than the first adaptation.
like for one thing, this Sano looks a lot closer to the manga Sano than Shun did. for me, i love that. although i do miss Shun. Sekime and Umeda Sensai look more like the manga characters than the first adaptation, too.
storywise, well, it's still got that zany, crazy quality that the first adaptation had. but there's some little things that they didn't include in the first adaptation that get included in this one (ex. the kid Dorm 1 used for the beauty pagaent). and of course, there's whole plots that got included (it's in episode 5-6; working at Namba's mom's beach place; this time, it's with the correct events: Kagurazaka and sister in tow, plus the creepy guy).
something else i noticed, this remake's got a little bit of a more serious tone than the first. not THAT much more, but still, there's a noticable difference to me.

verdict: right now it's too early to say which i like better. let just say that instead of being completely put off by this, i grow increasingly more and more interested in it. it could be better for me, but i'll have to see the show through to make that final judgement.
