finished Blood Brothers last night. it was good, but definitely not great. but no doubt that Nora Roberts is a great story teller. i just wish this book was a little faster, and, well, interesting.
the problems with first novels of a series is that there's so much introduction in it that i get bored after a while. i fully understand that it is necessary to establish the base of the story, but still. sometimes i just wanna skip right to the last 4 chapters.
the concept of the story is interesting, but it doesn't grab at me the way her Circle Trilogy did. that and i still don't care too much about any of the six main characters. since i'm a character person, i find this disturbing and discouraging, but i will keep reading (i just have to wait for book 2).
i've started The Lightning Thief and so far so good. i'm a little sad that i don't have the enthusiasm for it as when first reading Harry Potter but well, rarely any children's book has had that effect on me since Harry Potter.
i think i'm only on chapter 4, and already its radically different (the way he leaves him normal life and enter "camp" for instance was very very different). already i can tell that i'm going to like this better than the book.
