whoo hoo! i think i'm on a roll with these. I'm back with yet another one. this one's like Helpless Night in that there's a lot of english in the song. i would say this song's about half english half japanese.
and for those that wonder why i'm only translating japanese songs: well, it's because i find it hard to find translations of most of my favourite japanese songs, whereas kpop translations are everywhere. so i figured i should translate it myself. plus, it really is good practice. and since i'm not taking japanese classes anymore, this is the best kind of practice i can get right now.
so this time's song, is a smooth hip-hop/r&b piece by M-flo. it's apart of their m-flo♥'s series with Yoshika, entitled tO yOUR bEAT.
for those that don't know, m-flo is not one person (like first thought when i was introduced to them) but is a hip-hop duo, Verbal and DJ Taku, though they were three people when they first started.
this is my favourite song of theirs. before even knowing fully what the song was about, i fell in love with it simply for the music and the vocals/rap. the really laid-back, grooving tune coupled with Yoshika's smooth r&b vocals and Verbal's slick raps blend together so well. especially with the acoustic guitar in the back, the keyboard and Yoshika's voice, a sweet, dreamy mood's set. which is perfect consider this is a song about a truly sweet love.
tidbit: this song was written by Verbal for his then girlfriend, and now wife
translator's notes: i think the hardest part about this song was with the rap; it was hard to figure out where to cut the lines. i apologize now if some parts sound a bit weird.
