Poor Ennis! george66 February 18 2008, 23:06:09 UTC
Yes - I said poor Ennis. Unlike others I'm not ready to kick him in his teeth. Knowing his nature its perfectly understandable that he is reacting the way in which he is doing.

No question about it as always Ennis is taking it to the extreme but seeing that note only reinforce Ennis' fears at what will happen if they outed in the sport's world. We should never forget that that sports are extremely homophobic and while Ennis maybe taking his fears to the extreme...they are not unfounded. He has just reasons to be scared.

Now Ennis should definitely should tell Jack what is going on...this is going to effect Jack just as much as Ennis. Ennis shouldn't try to protect Jack in this regard. Jack shouldn't live in a fool's paradise...he should be force to see the reality for what it is. By doing so Jack would be able to confront and deal with the problem...hopefully with Ennis beside him. There's strength in numbers. At the moment Ennis may not see that but hopefully Jack will discover what is going on and be able to explain that to Ennis.

I also have to admire Ennis for what he is doing. Overall what he is doing isn't helping the situation. However its pretty clear his heart is in the right place. He is willing to sacrifice his own career - a career that he has a good ten years to continue - in order for Jack to finish out his career which will probably end in about two or three years without the heartache of being expose. In that state of mind what Ennis is doing is rather romantic. Hell he is even willing to accept the idea that Jack may find love in the arms of someone else, despite the fact that would kill him. I just wish instead of having a knee-jerk reaction, Ennis would pause and just think about the overall impact of his decision.

This is a complicated situation. There is nothing simple in this story.

Carol I simply loved the first part of the chapter. It was so cute, sweet, adorable and HOT!! I just love a bottom Ennis in this story - it makes him so, so, sexy!!
