So it's Rectober and I thought I'd give my poor little unused livejournal a bit of a work out by joining in and posting some recs. Yay! This will be multi fandom, because that's how I roll, and I'm going to start off with some really random recs. These are fic that I love, but don't really have a place to put. They're fandoms I don't generally read, or that barely even exist, but they're lovely and I love them and I hope you will too. :)

Summary: Where rumours of Harry's death have been greatly exaggerated, Merlin doesn't know if he's Arthur or Martha (and prefers to be neither), and every agent has his own justification for the dog test. Also, Harry is not dithering over his attraction to Eggsy (no matter what Merlin claims).
My Thoughts: Ok, this isn't exactly an obscure fandom, but it's not one I'm reading in at the moment. Mostly because I know that if I start I'm going to get sucked right on in and it will be six months before I come up for air and I just don't have the time for those kinds of feelings right now. I have read this one, however, and it is all kinds of lovely. A fantastic get together fic with some gorgeous characterizations. Harry's lovely. Eggsy's lovely. Martha is the loveliest. So very sweet.

My Thoughts: Ok, again, not exactly an obscure fandom, but this kick ass story sits a bit to the left of the fandom as it's about the Beacon Hills High students who aren't Scott, Stiles, Lydia and their besties. Outsider pov is one of my favourite things. When it's well done it can give the reader so much extra insight into their favourite pairing, strengthen the established world by building on to it, poke fun at some of the more irritating plot holes and just generally enhance the fandom experience This one is outstanding. Harley, a side character from episode one, is a fantastic, fully developed, well drawn character, the tone is really great, funny and engaging and the whole story makes me wish the shows writers could take a class from fandom writers.

My Thoughts: In which Benji and Will are kind of quietly in love and it's very sweet. I had no idea I shipped this pairing until I read this story. Now I just want ALL the Benji and Will.

My Thoughts: All I can say is I adore Pansy and this seems so sharply perfect.

My Thoughts: I know, ok, I know. But it's SO FUNNY! So, so funny. The pairing is pretty crack but it all makes sense and the characterization of Lucius is brilliant!
DCU

My Thoughts: So, this is a crossover DCU/MCU and it works! This is absolutely the relationship these two deserve. <3

My Thoughts: While I can't speak to the charcterization of Dick, as DCU/DC comic 'verse are not my normal stomping grounds, I found him to be beautifully engaging and satisfyingly angsty. The story is interesting and definitely more than a bit lovely. Dick from the comic's verse finds himself in Nolan's TDKR verse post movie and falls in love.
Calvin and Hobbes

My Thoughts: Suzy goes up against death and it's all really just a metaphor for letting go of childhood but isn't it lovely. <3
