TVD - 4x16 "Bring it On" - stop calling, stop calling, I don't want to think anymore

This episode was terrifying. But also kind of wonderful. But mostly terrifying. And it inspired a lot of unexpected anti-shipper feelings and fantasies in me where Elena just tells eerrrrebody to go screw themselves and steals Damon’s Camaro to go on a cross-country ribbon stealing spree. She will not be denied ribbons any longer, guys!  What, she’ ( Read more... )

Elena just tells eerrrrebody to go screw themselves and steals Damon’s Camaro to go on a cross-country ribbon stealing spree.
A good ending for the show IMO.

Lol… I’m amused by your haterade toward the Salvabros over this episode since I was WAY more filled-with-hatred after the last episode. I may have declared them both dead to me. But this episode actually went a ways to making me forgive them? Well, Damon, at least - whom strangely I think is handling the situation about as well as he can? I SHOULD be steamed about him using the sire bond again, but actually, given the circumstances it was actually the least immoral course of action (Elena had almost just killed that girl on the road and clearly did not care about blowing their cover). And… yeah, I can’t hate the dude when his solution to the episode’s events is ROADTRIP TO NEW YORK. #FORGIVE ME FOR I AM WEAK.

… Stefan is still a failbot but I’ve basically given up on him.

That said, I love how humanity-less Elena is just entirely defined by want, want, WANT. More so than any other vampire we’ve seen without his/her humanity, I think. It feels so right that the opposite of her human self, where her ~compassion for others and her fear of disappointing anyone meant an almost constant state of self-denial.
Yep. The interesting thing is that I don’t think she even particularly wanted the ribbon (or the party, or anything else) in itself - she just wanted to prove THAT SHE COULD take and have whatever she wanted, finally.

“Stefan helps Elena by giving her endearing lectures about how she is better and how much he loves her. Damon says they should go to a bar.” And I remember just laughing my ass off at “Endearing lectures.” ENDEARING LECTURES.
ROTFLMFAO WHAT THE FUCK. I’m embarrassed for that poster’s existence.

Also loved that we were all focused on Damon while it was on, considering the chorus is just “I want to be your toy. I want to be your toy.” Over and over again.
R u joking. Did this actually happen.

Here is a Damon who Elena is suddenly accusing of being No fun.
MUAHAHAHAHA MY FAVOURITE PART.

I firmly believe that next week will be all about butting against this long-held fantasy of his and him realizing he doesn’t want it anymore.
Yeah, basically. I can’t wait for it to all end in tears. :’)

I think what we were seeing was her lingering resentment, untempered, about how Caroline has really become more of a friend to Stefan than her. And it was possessiveness of Stefan, I think, but also possessiveness of Caroline. These were her people, and now they just collude with how best to fix her and sometimes dance together and laugh.
THIS, ABSOLUTELY. Like, how much would it sting for Elena to see that Stefan apparently can only relax and have fun with her best friend. Who has been spending the last millennium nagging her to prioritise Stefan above everything. And now Elena’s on the outside looking in on these people who are basically rejecting everything about her, and she’s never been more aware of it.

Am I wrong in hoping that Caroline/Stefan happens so Caroline can finally see how just-not-perfect-a-boyfriend Stefan is? PLEASE?
lol you are terrible. I have to admit, C/S has a lot of wrong!ship potential for me, because it would potentially involve two of my favourite things: 1) the destruction of fairytale illusions, on the part of Caroline and her hero-worship of Stefan; and 2) if things go according to plan, a reversal of emotional power where Stefan realises how much he takes Caroline for granted… at about the time she emotionally detaches herself. WHY CAN’T WE HAVE NICE THINGS.

In other news, congrats to Klaus on finally having sex. I was legit wondering if he actually did that.

This delayed reply is brought to you by a stupid week.

I think maybe I couldn't properly process my anger from 4x15, and now I am suddenly just overwhelmed a lingering resentment. I still think Damon is rocking the emotional avoidance a little too hard, although that is not OOC, obvs. But I can never stay mad at him for long, and you're right that considering Elena's new no-holds-barred policy toward killing, it was the better option.

Stefan would have to fall on a lot of pointy things repeatedly to make me feel any sympathy for him at this point.

I don’t think she even particularly wanted the ribbon (or the party, or anything else) in itself - she just wanted to prove THAT SHE COULD take and have whatever she wanted, finally.

OR Elena has always been obsessed with ribbons but has always kept it under wraps because she didn't want to embarrass the people she loves by wearing a RIBBON HAT.

.... You are probably more correct.

IT HAPPENED. IT WAS GLORIOUS. I want to marry TVD's music editor and cover them in big sloppy kisses.

WHY CAN’T WE HAVE NICE THINGS.
Wrong!ship. Wrong!ship. Wrong!ship.

Congrats to Klaus on finally having sex. I was legit wondering if he actually did that.
The further I get away from it, the weirder I find that it happened.
