Hi guys. How are we all feeling today? I know this is kind of belated, but I got you this Vampire Diaries- themed box of chocolates for Valentine’s Day.

I wish it were real, to be honest )

Although I have to say that, while I have always admired this show for not being afraid to herd its characters into the worst-possible scenarios, after they actually went there with Jeremy (!!!) I had a moment where I was like “… I think maybe you have crossed a line here.”
I honestly think it’s one of the bravest decisions the show has made? I see a lot of ranting about how pointless and sadistic it is, but… IDK, the way I always saw it Jeremy was going to die eventually. The curse of the doppelganger is to lose her entire family. ;____;

At this point, I want Elena to shut off her humanity, just so she can have a break from the cycle of guilt that that will inevitably arise when she starts to abuse herself for her “role” in Jeremy’s death. But then WHERE DOES IT END. WHEN DO I GET MY UNSIRED SEXYTIMES AND FLEETING MOMENTS OF HAPPINESS? How does face-touching fit into this new scenario? Where, exactly, is Damon’s butt?
LMFAO. I think the triangle is on hold for at least a little while, tbh. I can see both Damon and Stefan attempting to comfort Elena (and failing), but romance is out of the picture. DARK!ELENA + DAMON THOUGH. I AM GIDDY AT THE POSSIBILITY. /terrible

No! The Da Vinci Code HAS NO BUSINESS HERE.
Caroline’s reference to it was the greatest, tho.

Cuz I really hate the “oh I’ve just been spying on you and you didn’t notice” explanation.
lol, I feel like that’s totally Katherine, though? She’s a creeper.

+++Damon Salvatore’s “Look at my skin. It’s flawless.” Only character to make a round of torturing sound like a make-up commercial.
I’m so done. Also, if I recall, HE HAS A TATTOO. On his forearm. LOL.

I saw his telling Stefan to go find the cure and his “She only needs one of us” as his official resignation to the Stefan-hero status quo. Not that there wasn’t a pragmatic element to it, too; he was too weak to be of much use, so he needed to be out of the equation, but I also feel like this is the point where Damon has sort of given up because he has deemed his own situation truly un-fixable. D: D: D:
lol. I don’t feel like this is as ~tragic as his stans are making it out to be, though? Mostly because I think that taking a step back from their relationship is necessary at this point, and also WE KNOW IT’S NOT GONNA BE STEFAN. And I get the impression that ~letting go is a relief for Damon. It’s like he said: “You can’t control everything and I’ve made peace with that.” For someone like Damon, who has huge abandonment and control issues, that’s huge. He went about sabotaging his relationship with Elena last episode because ironically he was terrified of losing her, but now he’s coming to terms with the fact that loss may be inevitable anyway and it doesn’t help to blame yourself for it. (… And he has this revelation right before Jeremy is brutally killed off. OH, SHOW. D:)

I definitely don't think it's pointless, and I have been slowly making my peace/putting on my helmet to go back into Ye Olde Tunnel of Grief. You are right about the curse of the doppelganger--if Katherine is gunning for Klaus, how weirdly right is it that Katherine stripped the next doppelganger of her remaining family in the process of avenging (at least in part) the loss of her own.

DARK!ELENA + DAMON THOUGH. I AM GIDDY AT THE POSSIBILITY. /terrible

This is actually how the books play the D/E relationship, and is the only thing that stands out as awesome from my long-ago reading, even despite talking a lot about being dark princes and queens of the night. /moreterrible

Yes! Weirdly I don't have a problem with her spying. I would believe her telling Vaughn things, less that Vaughn has also been creeping around enough to gather info. I guess Katherine has the show's only invisibility cloak, in my mind.

You speak truth. He's growing up, the weirdo.
