I am super speedy today! Also, I have to pack to leave early early in the morning for the airport, so it was either write it now or wait until late tomorrow night.
Yeah, I just wish that we had gotten more of him this episode before we had to say goodbye. And it makes me nervous for next week, when I have a hunch we'll be saying more goodbyes. . .
I always enjoying reading your reviews. I agree this episode felt a little underwhelming and far too much boring Kate.
Surprisingly I didn't hate Robin- in fact I LIKED him this episode-and we finally had a bit of interaction between him and Much- he kept yelling for him in the sandpit thing and grabbing his hand!!!!
As for Allan- firstly I hated how they killed him off-barely any screen time and no one around but I actually like it now I think about it because it felt more real. No over the top heroics, just the horrible swift reality of death. Which for me, made it even more heartbreaking and the scene where they come across his body was just horrible and very well done.
I too adore Archer and loved his joining the good fight at the end :)
Robin wasn't bad in this episode, you're right. I tend to tune him out when he's talking to Kate, but that's to be expected. And I was glad to see some genuine worry for Much in the limestone Flashdance sequence.
You make a good point about the grittiness and absence of melodrama surrounding Allan's death, but at the same time, I still wanted a little more of a last stand, even if the gang would have never known about it. Actually, I wanted someone else to die in his place, so maybe nothing would have made me happy.
Don't get me wrong--I like that Allan died without knowing that he was vindicated and without everyone else being able to clean their conscience, although I would be a little more comfortable if I had faith that the writers would lend it the appropriate gravitas in the next episode. Right now I'm 50/50. . . they're going to have a lot to do, and dealing with serious emotional repercussions has never been the strong suit. However, I did want to give the character a little more of a last stand--it didn't feel like there was any Allan in that death.
And yeah, I kind of feel sorry for Kate because they just seem so doomed. I am really curious to see how they handle that in the final episode.
GUY + ROBIN NOBLE LAST STAND! WANT!! GIVE US THIS AT LEAST AS A REWARD FOR STICKING WITH YOU!
Hmm, nope, listened again and it's definitely "to the tunnel." I guess he is suggesting that Izzy should bring Guy to Vasey in exchange for her life. Meh

Agreed about too much Kate and very little Guy in this last one. Tuck got on my nerves with his preachings and silent rebelion, not very clear why Archer suddenly changed his mind (I like the bloke though he seems to share Robin's taste about women. Why Kate

not very clear why Archer suddenly changed his mind I chalked it up to having a chip of a conscience plus a new hatred for Isabella after her scathing comments.
At least he could die double-sword fighting or something, not just being shot in the back with no chance at all. Agreed. I was spoiled for the death, and was hoping we'd get some of Allan's spirit at least.
Yeah, I don't know what their plan is at this point. I would probably even watch an RA-less S4, just because I am extremely dumbly loyal to television shows, even when they start making me mad more than they make me happy.
