One of my favorite things about the internet is all the variety of shops and handmade products just inches away from my fingertips. It's dangerous, but also so fun!
Just yesterday on the radio I listened to a news piece about how customers today are more satisfied with online shopping than with the traditional mall stores. I've experienced feeling more satisfied with an online purchase so it was an intriguing comparison, especially when presented with the greatest hindrance- not being able to touch what you buy. I love to walk through a store and fondle every article of clothing for the softest, most pleasing texture. I would be a classic case of someone who is prone to buying in person, and yet the quality and originality is so often poorer than what I could find in an online boutique.
Here are some I've been browsing lately:
HATS by Rosy Naylor. This is the capette design. Every now and then I get struck by the urge to own a lot of unique hats (Brian is groaning as he reads this).
The Laundry based in the UK. These are the Haberdashy cards. Sadly, The Laundry does not yet ship to the U.S.
I also set up my new dress form in the sewing studio yesterday. All I can think of when I look at it is skirts! I have new items for the shop but today is a little bit gloomy for photography. Perhaps tomorrow will be brighter? Right now there are new totes, an art piece, and a headband. I would love to get a couple wallets finished up this week as well, but I have a date tonight! I wish more time didn't equal less sleep. :)
