[Hermione's been hiding out around the house for the past couple of weeks, but considering the atmosphere over the past event, one thing has remained clear: she really can't stay here anymore. [Sokka isn't sure what to say, so he waits to reply. On one hand, he wants to be alone (alone means he can't hurt or be hurt) and on the other hand, he wants to ask Granger if she's willing to keep him company (since so few seem interested these days.) When he finally thinks up an appropriately unemotional response, it's forty minutes later.]

I don't mind being alone, Hermione; it's the easiest thing to be most days.
