Starting with, it opens with the cliff-hanger from the last book. I figured out what happened when I saw the title of this -- indeed, I doubt anyone could miss it -- and it happens.
More military than the earlier books. Much is resolved. Some painful information about the Blessing, and a strong hint that the Dark Ones committed an important element of the backstory.
Resolves very well. There are definite hooks for future stories, but this one is resolved.
