This is a difficult (heh) book to categorize. Part natural science, part memoir, part cookbook. The chapters are A-Z of mostly fruit, although Lebo does sometimes play it a little loose--sugarcane, dandelions, a few other things that are not, strictly speaking, fruit. Although if you think of fruit here more as a concept than a scientific definition, then it works.
It's a quick read, and the short chapters give you a natural place to stop if you're looking for something you can read in short bursts. You can also skip the recipes at the end of each chapter without missing anything in the overall narrative, although I enjoyed reading them. I might attempt to make a couple at some point.
