First off I would like to say thank you. It was posts like this in the community last year that made me take note of what I was reading on a weekly basis. I used to be a fairly prolific reader when I was younger, but somewhere between university and full-time employment, the amount of time I set aside for reading got smaller and smaller. I found that keeping this list of what I was reading actually spurred me on to make an effort to read, and it's been a really enjoyable experience.
Below the cut are the 117 books/graphic novels that I managed to get through this year. I'll be the first to admit that some of them are 'trash' that I have picked up from the free Kindle list on Amazon, and that some of you may not feel that graphic novels should count in a book list, but some of my time went into all of these so it only feels right to list them all.

Favourite Fiction : China Mieville's
"The Scar" and John Le Carre's,
"Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy" - The first because the world-building is absolutely breath-taking, the second because it has incredibly evocative descriptions of the English countryside, as well as a great story.
Favourite Non-Fiction :
London - Executioner's City - I used to live in London, and I wish I had read this book when I was there.
Best Series Bernard Cornwell
"The Warlord Chronicles" - I am so thankful to my boss for recommending these to me. Not only will you fall in love with the characters, but you will want to start an affair with the British Isles.
Best Graphic Novel :
"1602" - I did like "Civil War", I'm not sure 'enjoy' is the right word to use for it though. I really liked the idea behind "1602", and it keeps popping up in my thoughts.
Books I would recommend to anyone :
"The Philosopher and The Wolf" (a good 'thinky' book, but it tricks you into having deep thoughts) ,
"Azincourt" (simply stunning, unrepentadly gory) and
"The Windup Girl" (a wonderful introduction, for anyone, to steampunk and alternative thinking).
Most Disappointing:
"The Scarpetta Factor" - it made me want to erase my own memory, same goes for "Port Mortuary".
