So last year I pledged a New Year’s resolution, or rather, a challenge- first, I promised I would buy no full-priced books (books are an obsession of mine, and can be an unhealthily expensive habit), and also to keep a record of the books I read through the year. Parts of it I definitely found interesting, but parts of it certainly lived up to what I had read beforehand of it merely being a privileged American woman flouncing around the world to 'discover herself', which has its problems, but it can still be enjoyed. I still wouldn't rule out reading Committed, though.

Things Fall Apart is a worthy classic, but it's quite inaccessible in parts to a Western reader. I do recommend it; it's great for widening your horizons.
