Update-May 30, 2012
Hi everyone!
It's been a while since I did anything on this journal, other than post my review on Life of Pi a couple of minutes ago. As the school year is winding down, I'm finding it to be a little more hectic than I first anticipated. Putting the choice novel unit at the tail end of the year was a great choice because I could put my feet up and read during class while my students worked independently, but now that it's time for the reviews before the final and time to finish my fifty-page inquiry paper, I have zero motivation and zero time. I'm just glad I managed to finish Life of Pi.
At the moment, I'm also reading Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire by J.K. Rowling and Wild, Sweet Madness by Elizabeth Fritch (yes, it's a romance). My 82-year-old grandpa has begun to read. The doctors think this is great. I think it's great. However, his favorite genre happens to be romance novels. Did I mention my grandpa is 82, and an army veteran? Yeah, kind of strange. Anyway, he's been giving me books to read. Let me tell you, book discussions with him have become slightly awkward.
Anywho, that's what has been going on recently. I'm still reading--still chugging along, just a little slower than in April and early May. Happy Wednesday!
