I don't have much to say about this book. It was O.K. I guess. The beginning of the book was very poorly written with Katerine Howe beating her readers over the head with a cast iron skillet. She would use a metaphor, explain it, explain it some more, and then finally exhaust it. What? Does she think that because she's a doctoral candidate that everyone else in the world was stupid? I was uninterested in the book until just under half way through, then the plot and the writing began to pick up. By the penultimate chapter, I was excited and interested completely and by the time the Postscript came along, I was bored once more and frustrated with her abysmal way of showing instead of telling.
Rating: 3 out of 5 stars (maybe more like 2.5, but the plot was pretty good.)
